MORRISTOWN, NEW JERSEY - Dr. Brian S Glatt, MD, FACS of the Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey in Morristown, NJ is one of the first practices in the northern New Jersey area to offer the newest filler Juvederm XC. This newest version of Juvederm contains lidocaine (a numbing agent) within the filler substance itself! This can allow a smooth, pain free injectable filler experience without the need for numbing cream or nerve blocks.
Who ever said, “No pain, No gain”? They haven’t heard about this newest offering from Allergan, Juvderm XC. Common areas Dr. Glatt uses Juvederm to rejuvenate the face include various smaller facial wrinkles, nasolabial folds, as well as the cheeks and lips. All of this has become much more comfortable as Juvederm XC is formulated with lidocaine ( a numbing agent) so achieving the smoothness you’ve come to love involves less treatment discomfort. Over 90% of patients treated with this newest version of Juvederm reported less pain on injection. Juvederm remains the only FDA approved filler with results that last up to 1 year, and most of our patients report effects that last even longer.

With the newest Juvederm XC we can provide the filler patients have come to love without the experience of uncomfortable injections. Just wanted to share this letter:
Hi Nancy,
I just wanted to send out an overall thanks to you and the staff at Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey.
My experience beginning with the initial phone call was most professional and positive.
As you know, I had consulted with three other Plastic Surgeons regarding breast augmentation and received very conflicting information which left me confused and unsure of my decision to have this procedure.
After meeting with Dr. Glatt, I feel very confident about moving forward with breast augmentation since his knowledge, expertise and overall personality was not only impressive but genuine.
I am glad my friend recommended me to Dr Glatt and Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey.
Healthy regards,
Jeanne

Sweating out toxins helps to reduce cellulite.
False. There is no evidence to show that sweating out toxins will help reduce cellulite.
It is possible to get rid of cellulite entirely.
Unfortunately, cellulite can never be completely removed, although you can lessen it to a certain degree with liposuction. Newer methods of liposuction using ultrasound or laser liposuction have been particularly effective for this.
A massage can help get rid of lumps and bumps.
No amount of massaging will eliminate lumps and bumps from cellulite – regardless of what cream you use! Buyers should beware of creams that promise to eliminate cellulite – they don’t work.
Drinking water helps to flush out toxins.
Staying well hydrated is thought to help flush toxins out of the body and keep your soft tissues in healthier condition which can translate into a more vibrant outer appearance of the skin.
Carbonation will add to cellulite problems.
Although it was once thought that carbonated beverages added to cellulite problems, no connection between carbonated drinks and cellulite has ever been established. Furthermore, because staying well hydrated is thought to help flush toxins out of the body and keep your soft tissues in healthier condition which can translate into a more vibrant outer appearance of the skin, consuming beverages like sparkling water could be beneficial.
Cutting out processed foods will help alleviate cellulite.
Cutting out processed foods, which contain high levels of hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils, may reduce excess body fat. While excess body fat is not necessarily the cause of cellulite, it does make getting rid of cellulite more difficult. A healthy and balanced diet can certainly improve one’s appearance and overall health.
Products infused with caffeine will rid cellulite.
There are unfortunately no commercially available topical or oral products that will get rid of cellulite.
There are new laser technologies that rid cellulite.
While many newer laser treatments promise the world with regards to cellulite treatment, most do not deliver. Heat, rather than cold, helps downplay lumps and bumps.
Cellulite creams should be used in the morning and at night.
Buyer beware of creams that promise elimination of cellulite – they simply don’t work. If there WAS a topical cream that truly eliminated cellulite or reduced it significantly then EVERYONE would have it and no one would be confused about what to use!
Everyone has cellulite.
Everyone does have excess fatty tissue in variable amounts, but not everyone has this show as “cellulite”.
A tan reduces the appearance of cellulite.
Staying tan may reduce the appearance of cellulite, but will have no effect on overall contour.
Exercise doesn’t affect cellulite build-up.
Exercise is a crucial component to staying in shape and keeping away extra accumulation of fat is problem areas, but in people susceptible to it, cellulite may still build up or remain in certain areas such as the outer thighs or buttocks. For these people, liposuction is the perfect solution to help reduce the amount and appearance of unwanted cellulite.

False!! “Hard boobs” result from excess scar tissue which can form around a breast implant – not the implants turning hard themselves. Meticulous technique during breast implant surgery can help avoid this from happening.
Butt implants can make it uncomfortable to sit for some people and are notorious for cauing postential problems such as infection or fluid collections, which can make it very ucomfortable to sit.
A cosmetic tummy tuck should never remove your belly button! The belly button will usually be cut around it to keep it attached to you on a “stalk” and everything else moves around it. A new hole is then made in the skin to bring it back through to the surface.
True. It is usually fairly easy to incorporate a c-section scar into a tummy tuck scar to keep the scar low and well-hidden.
We are unsure regarding the safety of Botox during pregnancy for your developing child. Because of this one should avoid having Botox treatments while pregnant.
Not always! Typically the nose does need to be broken during a nose job, especially if there is a ”hump” to be taken down. If the hump is small or if one is not dealing with a bump, but only the tip, for example, then the nose will not need to be broken.
Necklift surgery is a very popular choice for those seeking rejuvenation of the neck, but who are not quite ready for a full facelift. The incisions are minimal and well hidden around the ear and the skin laxity as well as the bands in the middle of eth neck can be well taken care of.
A facelift deals with rejuvenation of the cheeks, jowls, and neck and should not effect the size of your forehead.

Fact or Fiction?
FALSE. If a woman is able to breast feed otherwise (some people are not able to breast feed regardless of implants being present), then having breast implants should not affect this and you should be able to breast feed after having implants. There is, however, a small chance that she will not be able to.
FALSE!! It matters a lot whether breast implants are placed over or under the muscle! OVER the muscle produces a look which is less natural and prone to the breast implant being visible. This is especially true in thinner women. There is also a higher chance of the breast implants developing capsular contracture (hardening of the tissue around the implant) when they are placed over the muscle. Breast implants placed under the muscle have more soft tissue coverage and so produce a more natural looking result and also have a lower risk of hardening later on. One disadvantage to placing them under the muscle , though, is that if you are working out your pecs, the implants may move in an unnatural way.
TRUE. There is no danger of flying with breast implants. You would want to ideally allow yourself some time to heal after surgery before you fly, but nothing about the implants makes it unsafe to fly.
FALSE. You do not HAVE to change your implants every 10 years or so. The life span of an implant is thought to be about 10-15 years, so you just need to be prepared for the possibility that your implants may only last that long and will eventually need to be replaced. Women need to understand that breast implants will not last forever; you do not need to change them out unless you have a reason to do so, such as one of them rupturing.
TRUE. There is no way to place breast implants through the skin without producing a scar somewhere. Even if it is very small, very light, barely visible, or extremely well hidden, there will always be a scar.
TRUE. Although the lifespan of breast implants is supposed to be about 10-15 years, a breast implant can always rupture sooner. The opposite is also true though – your breast implants may very well last a lot longer than 10-15 years.
FALSE. There is no concrete way of knowing what size implant may be most appropriate for you. This is an individualized discussion which should be had with your surgeon and will depend on a combination of factors including your desired postoperative appearance, your postoperative goals, and your body size and shape.
FALSE. Breast implants get hard not from the implant themselves, but from the normal scar tissue around the implant contracting and squeezing the implant. This is called capsular contracture and is not part of the normal process of breast augmentation. Everyone has a capsule after breast augmentation surgery; this capsule though should stay nice and soft and not produce changes which can make the implants feel hard. Capsular contracture is considered a complication after breast implant surgery. In fact, silicone gel filled breast implants are usually much softer feeling and looking than ones filled with saline!
FALSE Breast implants don’t sag. The overlying breast tissues do sag over time. Sometimes the breast can sag over the implant, producing an unattractive appearance to the breast which can easily be corrected with breast lift surgery. The breasts will age over time as they would without the implants in place, in fact; having implants, especially larger ones, may actually cause the breasts to sag more over time secondary to the weight of the implants on the surrounding soft tissues
TRUE Breast implants can leak over time. If they are filled with saline, then your breast will deflate and appear to be smaller. If you have silicone gel filled breast implants, then it may be more difficult to know if the shell has ruptured. You may need an MRI or other imaging study to know for sure if your silicone gel implants have ruptured. Either way, if your implants are ruptured, the recommendation is to have them replaced. The contents of the implants should not travel beyond the pocket and do not make you sick or cause problems over time.
