Dermaplaning

Sometimes referred to as epidermal leveling or blading, dermaplaning is a medical skin treatment consisting of manual exfoliation of the outermost layers of the epidermis. Using a surgical blade, the skin is exfoliated gently, removing dead skin cells and impurities. During this treatment, vellus hair, commonly know as “peach fuzz” is also removed, however, this hair will not grow back any thicker or darker than it was before treatment. Dermaplaning may be done as an alternative to a chemical peel, or as the first step of a multi-level treatment which combines dermaplaning with a chemical peel, for deeper penetration of the peel.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion mixes gentle abrasion with light suction and results in fresh, healthy, glowing skin. During your initial consultation, our skin care specialist will examine your skin to determine if this procedure would provide optimal results.

A spray of tiny crystals exfoliate the skin during microdermabrasion, removing dead cells and damaged outer layers of your skin. A small suction device removes debris during the procedure. Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment for opening clogged pores and reducing the appearance of fine lines, age spots, and dull or oily patches, to reveal fresher, smoother skin beneath.

To learn more about microdermabrasion, contact the Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey to schedule an initial evaluation. Our skin care specialist will determine which skin rejuvenating procedure will achieve the optimum results for you.

Chemical Peels

Specific, controlled combinations of chemicals are applied to the skin during a chemical peel to allow the superficial layers of skin to peel away, revealing a healthy, younger-looking complexion. PremierPlasticSurgeryCenter of New Jersey offers the following types of peels.

MicroPeel® — The MicroPeel® uses an appropriate strength alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) to penetrate and clean the pores and gradually lighten pigmentation. It improves skin texture and tone to create a refreshed appearance.

MicroPeel® Plus — Salicylic acid (BHA) is used in the MicroPeel® Plus to help stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process. It removes dead skin cells and unclogs pores to promote a brighter and clearer complexion.

Parisian Peel® Microdermabrasion — This powerful, non-surgical procedure combines a MicroPeel® with microdermabrasion. Parisian Peel® microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment for softening lines, minimizing pores and acne scarring, and lightening pigmentation.

Permanent Cosmetic Makeup

Permanent cosmetic makeup (micropigmentation) is the art of implanting color into your skin to allow you to maintain a perfect, natural look, 24 hours a day. The correct shade of color, expertly placed in your lips, brows or lids not only helps you to look your best, but also improves the signs of aging associated with pigment loss in these areas.

There are many reasons for considering permanent makeup:

  • Definition of your eyes and lips while swimming or exercising.
  • Allergies to ordinary makeup or difficulty with makeup application.
  • Hair loss from alopecia, chemotherapy, accidents or burns.
  • To color the nipple/areola complex after breast reconstruction.
  • Color replacement for cleft lips or vitiligo patches.
  • Camouflage for scarred areas.
  • The convenience of spending less time “putting on your face”!

The services of Kira L. Sudol, Board Certified in Permanent Cosmetics and a Fellow in the American Academy of Micropigmentation, are available at Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey’s Morristown office. For additional information about permanent cosmetics or to schedule an appointment for an initial consultation with Kira, please call our office at 973-889-9300.

Skin Care Products and Home Programs

Skin Care Products

The daily use of prescription strength skin care products under the supervision of the skin care specialists at Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey can help prevent or reverse skin damage. We offer highly effective medical grade products from the most respected names in the skin care industry:

Neocutis
Originally established for wound healing and burn treatments, the proprietary skin care ingredient Processed Skin Cell Proteins (PSP®) from Neocutis provides the most complete and balanced combination of human growth factors and cytokines currently available. Studies suggest that aging or environmentally damaged skin has the same needs as wounded skin, and regular use of Neocutis skin care products improves lines and wrinkles, improves the skin’s elasticity and evens out pigmentation.

SkinMedica
SkinMedica’s aesthetic product line is based on the science of the skin’s own healing abilities. As skin ages, elasticity decreases, lines appear and overall appearance is diminished. To counteract the effects of time, their products contain restorative ingredients that work below the skin’s surface to regenerate the health of the skin.

Neova
Neova was the first clinical skin care brand to bring real innovation to the photoaging category by introducing Copper Peptide Complex® technology products. Making the association between DNA damage and premature skin aging, Neova now introduces DNA repair and Copper Peptide Complex technologies providing complete, continuous, optimized care. These unique award-winning Combination Therapy skin care formulas target photodamaged skin, help to visibly improve it and have revolutionized the way women care for their skin.

Intellishade SPF45
Revision Skincare’s Intellishade uses smart tint technology to match every skin tone, while reducing the appearance of fine lines, and providing complete sun defense. A sunscreen, concealer and moisturizer for all skin types, this product is available in original or matte formula.
