Dermabrasion and Microdermabrasion
Both dermabrasion and microdermabrasion reveal fresh, healthy, glowing skin by removing the worn, damaged, exterior layers of skin. During your initial consultation, our skin care consultants will examine your skin to determine which procedure will provide optimal results.
A spray of tiny crystals exfoliate the skin during microdermabrasion, removing dead cells and damaged outer layers of your skin. A small suction device removes debris during the procedure. Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment for opening clogged pores and reducing the appearance of fine lines, age spots, and dull or oily patches, to reveal fresher, smoother skin beneath.
Dermabrasion is used to treat more extensive facial imperfections than would be possible through microdermabrasion, and can be used to target specific areas of the skin. Dermabrasion at Dr. Glatt’s New Jersey practice involves the use of an abrasive instrument to smooth the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and other blemishes. Before treatment, a special spray may be used to freeze the treatment area, and a local anesthetic will be applied to numb the skin for a pain-free experience.

Chemical Peels
Specific, controlled combinations of chemicals are applied to the skin during a chemical peel to allow the superficial layers of skin to peel away, revealing a healthy, younger-looking complexion. Dr. Glatt’s skin care consultants offer the following types of peels.
MicroPeel® — The MicroPeel® uses an appropriate strength alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) to penetrate and clean the pores and gradually lighten pigmentation. It improves skin texture and tone to create a refreshed appearance.
MicroPeel® Plus — Salicylic acid (BHA) is used in the MicroPeel® Plus to help stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process. It removes dead skin cells and unclogs pores to promote a brighter and clearer complexion.
Parisian Peel® Microdermabrasion — This powerful, non-surgical procedure combines a MicroPeel® with microdermabrasion. Parisian Peel® microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment for softening lines, minimizing pores and acne scarring, and lightening pigmentation.
Enzyme Treatment — This treatment is gentle, yet extremely effective in removing dull, lifeless skin cells for a clean, fresh, healthy glow. We often use an enzyme treatment before chemical peels to prepare the skin and enhance results.

Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing is a popular choice for facial rejuvenation because it is a safe and effective treatment for the common signs of aging. Laser skin resurfacing is often combined with facelift, brow lift, and/or eyelid surgery, and can enhance results by improving the skin’s texture. Similar to chemical peels and dermabrasion, laser skin resurfacing creates a smoother, more youthful complexion.
During laser skin resurfacing at Dr. Glatt’s New Jersey practice, a laser is used to exfoliate the top layer of damaged skin to reveal the healthy skin beneath. Thermal energy from the laser helps cells regenerate and build collagen, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, lines, discolorations, scars, and sun damage. The laser can be used to rejuvenate the entire face, or to target specific areas such as the lines that form around the eyes, mouth, or forehead. Skin will appear pink and tender for about a week following laser skin resurfacing while healing occurs and typically fades to reveal a fresh, smooth appearance over the following months.
If you would like to learn more about laser skin resurfacing, contact the Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey to schedule a consultation. Our skin care consultants will examine your skin to determine which treatments will bring out the best in your skin.

Permanent Cosmetic Makeup
Permanent cosmetic makeup (micropigmentation) is the art of implanting color into your skin to allow you to maintain a perfect, natural look, 24 hours a day. The correct shade of color, expertly placed in your lips, brows or lids not only helps you to look your best, but also improves the signs of aging associated with pigment loss in these areas.
There are many reasons for considering permanent makeup:
- Definition of your eyes and lips while swimming or exercising.
- Allergies to ordinary makeup or difficulty with makeup application.
- Hair loss from alopecia, chemotherapy, accidents or burns.
- Color replacement for cleft lips or vitiligo patches.
- Camouflage for scarred areas.
- The convenience of spending less time “putting on your face”!
Kira L. Sudol, Board Certified in Permanent Cosmetics and a Fellow in the American Academy of Micropigmentation, has recently expanded her practice and her services will now be available at Premier Plastic Surgery Center of New Jersey’s Morristown office. For additional information about permanent cosmetics or to schedule an appointment for an initial consultation with Kira, please call our office at 973-889-9300.
