NJ Liposuction and Tummy Tuck
As the calendar turns to March, the month that spring begins, summer, the season of bathing suits and shorts, is not far behind. With this change of seasons, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Brian S. Glatt, MD, FACS sees an increase in requests for liposuction and tummy tucks. Though both of these procedures remove fat and add contour and definition to your body, they are not interchangeable, and each has specific applications.
Liposuction is performed to remove areas of fat deposits which are resistant to diet and exercise. Since liposuction removes fat, not skin, the appropriate candidate for this procedure will have good skin tone and elasticity. Liposuction is used for many areas of the body – the abdomen, chest, buttocks, back, thighs, and neck.
A tummy tuck, known as abdominoplasty, which removes excess abdominal fat, also addresses excess abdominal skin and weak or separated abdominal muscles. During this procedure the abdominal muscles are tightened, and abdominal skin and fat are removed. Liposuction is often used in conjunction with a tummy tuck, to define and contour the area.
To discuss your options for a better beach body, call our Morristown, NJ office at 973-889-9300 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Glatt.

NJ Permanent Cosmetic Make-Up
With each day comes new knowledge and techniques to keep us looking our best longer. Permanent Cosmetic Make-Up can be one way to help women streamline their morning routine and keep that healthy, vital, beautiful glow no matter if they are swimming, working out, have make-up allergies, hair loss, or uneven skin pigmentation issues. Permanent Cosmetics, also called cosmetic tattooing, is the placement of pigment just beneath the epidermis of the skin, usually to enhance the eyebrows, line the lips, or as eyeliner. In addition to these procedures, permanent cosmetics are used for nipple/areola tattooing after breast reconstruction, and to improve or mask scarred areas of the skin.
You can learn more about Permanent Cosmetic Make-Up on our Skin Care info page. Still have questions? Call Dr. Glatt’s office at 973-889-9300 to schedule a consultation with our Board Certified Permanent Cosmetics technician to learn more about the process and find out if it is right for you!
